Summary
Salem, New Hampshire has had a free, public library since the first circulation of books to the public on February 17, 1894. Known by several names over the course of time (Salem Public Library, Salem Free Library, and others), it has been known as the Kelley Library since moving to 234 Main Street in 1966. This collection traces that history. Items from its early days (Registers, Ledgers), its days at what is now the Alice L. Hall Memorial Library (Check Registers, newspaper articles) and its more recent past (Fact Sheets, HAPLR reports, newspaper articles) show its expansion and growth
