In 1947 Hollywood Eddie Valiant is a down-on-his-luck detective who is hired to find out if Marvin Acme is playing hanky-panky with Jessica Rabbit, wife of Maroon Cartoon superstar Roger Rabbit. When Acme is found murdered all fingers point to Roger who enlists Eddie's help to find the real killer. The down-on-his-luck detective gets involved in a dastardly plot to redevelop Toontown. The mixed live and animated action takes place in Hollywood and next-door "Toontown," where humans and "Toons" co-exist
